Singer/songwriter, Don Smith will present a special musical performance
of “Travelin’ On Music.” No cost to attend - a love offering will be
taken. Everyone is cordially invited.

Our annual Christmas Fair and very
popular corn chowder lunch, sandwiches and pies. There will be a great
assortment of baked goods and candy, gourmet gifts, decorations, gifts
and crafts, handiwork and a silent auction. This fair has a great
reputation and popular items are in great demand. Hope to see you there!
HAM & BEAN SUPPER
The
Suncook Valley Sno-Riders will be holding their 9th Annual Ham & Bean
Supper, Saturday, November 14, 2009. It will be downstairs at the
Pittsfield Community Center from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the meal
consisting of ham, beans or potatoes, coleslaw, roll, drink and dessert.
The cost is $7.00 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 6 to 12, and
children 5 and under is free. Stop by and enjoy a home cooked
meal.
Locke Lakers Social Club News

The regular monthly meeting of the Locke
Lakers was held on October 13 at the Lodge. The by-laws were amended to
change the name to the Locke Lakers Social Club. Its mission is for the
social, cultural and recreational benefit of the members of Locke Lake
Colony. It is open to all people who reside or own property in Locke
Lake Colony. Please join us for a fun time, with lots of laughs and an
opportunity to meet your neighbors.
Due to
Lodge renovations, the next scheduled meeting on November 10th will be
held at Ann Shea’s house on Dunbarton Drive. For questions or
directions, please call her at 776-0353. Meetings begin at 10 AM
with coffee and social time starting at 9:30 AM.
After
the October 13th meeting, members toured the Old Country Store in
Moultonboro and then had lunch at the Hart’s Turkey Farm in Meredith. A
fun time was had by all.
The
September 25th fishing trip was cancelled due to bad weather.
Our
latest outing was to the “Quill”, on the campus of SNHU, for lunch,
prepared by the school’s Culinary students. After lunch we visited the
rotating art exhibit at the campus art gallery.
The
group is planning a Sunday Brunch on November 15th at the Wolfeboro Inn,
followed by a 2 PM matinee of “Mame” in Wolfeboro. Our own Jon Martin is
a cast member. We will car pool from the Lodge at 11AM, with
brunch at 11:30. If interested, please contact Ann Shea.
The
December regular meeting will be on the 8th. Plans are underway
for a New Year’s Eve Party.
Teen Event
Keith
McMahon and a group of students from New Brunswick Bible Institute
(NBBI) Student Events Ministry Team will be at the Center Barnstead
Christian Church on November 21-22. Teens (7th-12th grades) are invited
to come to an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT ice cream sundae night on Saturday,
November 21 from 6:30-9:00 PM at the church. There will also be games
and skits performed by the NBBI students.
On
Sunday, November 22 the team will be sharing during the Sunday School
time beginning at 10:15 AM at the church.

Obituaries
Margaret H. Wheet
Margaret H. Wheet, 83, of Coles Ledge Road, died October 31, 2009,
at the Epsom Manor Health Center following a long illness.
She was
born on the family farm, the daughter of Rexford E. and Bessie
(McDuffie) Wheet and had lived in Barnstead all her life.
Years
ago she was employed by Globe Manufacturing Co. in Pittsfield. She later
worked at Blue Cross- Blue Shield in Concord. She also was an
occupational therapist and worked at Havenwood in Concord and later for
the Easter Seals Society.
She was
a member of the Parade Congregational Church.
She is
survived by 4 sisters, Vera Brown and Mary Prescott, both of Barnstead,
Irene Broadbent of Epsom and Lee Dawson of Gilmanton, I.W.; 2 nieces and
many nephews.
She was
predeceased by 2 brothers, Merle and David Wheet; and a sister, Phyllis
Willey.
A
Graveside Service was held on Saturday, November 7, 2009, in the
Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead.
The
Rev. Sandy Pierson, Pastor of the Parade Congregational Church
officiated.

The
Perkins & Pollard Memorial Home, Pittsfield, assisted with
arrangements.
