Parents
of incoming freshmen and new students, come tour the building, meet some
of our faculty and ask questions.
Light
refreshments will be served.
Welcome
to the PMHS Community.
What a
rich time for our local children! The young “buckaroos” enjoyed some of
the finest education that you could find anywhere - teaching bible
history, morals and values, joyful singing of God’s love for them,
physical activities and memory games and more. What a wonderful
week-long summer experience, in a beautiful and fun-decorated church
environment. For some of us, picnicking and swimming afterward. Children
learned to be “after God’s own heart.” We are very thankful for the
ministry of all the folks at the church who contributed to create such a
rich, blessed and fun experience for all of the children attending.
Barnstead-Alton Republican Committee
The
Barnstead-Alton Republican Committee (BARC) will hold their next monthly
meeting on Thursday, August 13 at J.J. Goodwin’s Restaurant (upstairs),
769 Suncook Valley Rd (Rt 28), Center Barnstead - (603) 269-8300.
Dinner (at your option) is at 5:30 pm; the meeting will begin at 6:30
pm.
This
month’s discussion will focus on the New Hampshire GOP. Looking back at
the last couple of elections, and looking forward to November 2010,
there are a lot of opinions about what’s best for our country, our
state, and the GOP. Leading the discussion will be our special
guests, BJ Perry and Chris Sununu. As the Field Manager of the NH
GOP, BJ’s role involves meeting with local town GOP Committees all over
New Hampshire to assist Governor Sununu in his efforts to unify the
Party. Chris, son of the NH GOP Chairman, is a Consultant with JHS
Consultants and is a full time executive volunteer with the NH GOP.
BARC,
formed in the Fall of 2008, has helped to promote Republican principles
and values by engaging the local community. It offers an
opportunity for the townspeople of Alton, Barnstead, and surrounding
towns to discuss issues and concerns such as the economy, pending
legislation, etc., and to hear from your elected officials. This
month, an invitation has been extended to all NH Republican Legislators
and their constituents to join us at this meeting.

Barnstead Old Home Day
Calling All Kids!
Old
Home Day activities always focus on lots of things for the kids to see
and do. This year is no exception, and there will be numerous activities
for kids of all ages.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., the youngsters will be busy with a number of
games that will let them show off their coordination and pitching
skills, including ring toss, bean bag toss, penny toss into bottle caps.
If we have any young Tiger Woods protégés in the area, they should make
it to the putting greens to try for a hole-in-one. For the young anglers
among us, there will be a duck pond and fishing game. Overall, there
will be lots of fun and games for the young kids.
For the
adventurous youngsters there will be a rock climbing wall and a dunk
tank. The very popular jailhouse will also be on hand. If anyone is
“arrested” they will have to perform or pay to be let out.
Last year, detainees included the Barnstead Chief of Police and a
reporter from a local newspaper!
In keeping with this year’s Old Home Day theme celebrating one
hundred years of fire protection services in the town of Barnstead,
members of Barnstead Fire Rescue will be looking for kids to participate
in an old-fashioned muster at 10:30 a.m. Participants in the muster will
be able to race against time to don fire protective gear, carry water in
a bucket brigade, layout and roll up fire hoses, and use hoses and water
to test their skills for knocking balls off cones.
The
Bike Parade will kick off at 12:00 noon. Bikes decorated consistent with
the theme of celebrating fire protection services will parade and
compete for prizes.
Wayne
from Maine will be performing at 2:00 p.m. This well-known
children’s entertainer will captivate audiences of all ages with his
stories and songs.
New
this year, a basketball-throwing contest will be held at 3:00 p.m. Kids
large and small will be able to show off their ball shooting skills and
compete to win prizes.
And, for the musically talented, there is a Youth Talent Show at 4:00
p.m. The Talent Show will be followed by Karaoke for those who want to
belt out their favorite songs.
So,
come to Barnstead Old Home Day on August 29 and check out all the fun!

Tom And Sue Dennison To Speak At The Center Barnstead Christian
Church
Tom and
Sue Dennison will be speaking at the Center Barnstead Christian Church
this Sunday, August 16th at the 9:00 AM Morning Service. The Dennisons
have joined with SEND International believing they have been called and
led by God to return to the Philippines to reach the youth of Manila and
to help mentor young men in their church planting ministries all over
the Philippines and Asia.
Tom
trusted Christ as his personal Savior when he was 18 years old. A year
later Tom dedicated his life to Christ and was soon studying at the Word
of Life Bible Institute. While there, he gained a burden to be in full
time ministry. Needing further studies, he enrolled at Baptist Bible
College of PA. Before Tom graduated from BBC, God had sharpened his
ministry focus to be on missions. Sue, also, came to Christ as a
teenager; in fact, it was through the same local church that brought Tom
to Christ. After attending Word of Life, Sue also went on to BBC to
study Bible and Elementary Education.
While
at BBC, Tom and Sue were married and began to seek God’s will together.
The Lord led them to serve in the Philippines in youth ministry for 20
years. They enjoyed a fruitful ministry there in a Bible Institute, and
then a local church oriented youth program. In 2007 the Dennisons felt
the Lord leading them into a different ministry. Believing this was in
the USA, they moved back to NH. After a year of seeking what God wanted
them to do they became convinced that God wanted them back in the
Philippines.
Meanwhile, God was opening great doors of opportunity for SEND to reach
into the public schools in the Philippines with the gospel. Tom and Sue
are extremely excited to get back to Manila to join the effort in once
again reaching youth for Christ. Tom and Sue spent the last ten years of
their ministry evangelizing youth, connecting them to local churches for
discipleship and training leaders in working with youth. The needs are
great in Manila with a student population in the millions and probably
93% of them trusting in idols instead of the Savior. Another exciting
avenue of ministry will be mentoring and teaching young men who are
burdened for church planting. Current missionaries of SEND are planning
a Church Planters Institute that will seek to train men in church
planting in the Philippines, as well as, abroad in other Asian nations.
The
Center Barnstead Christian Church is located on Route 126, next to the
Town Hall. For more information please contact the church at 269-8831.
