Do you shop
at the Steeplegate Mall in Concord? The music department at Prospect
Mountain High School is collecting receipts (including Applebee’s) as
part of the A+ Rewards fundraising program. Anyone can drop them off at
the mall, in our school’s main office in Alton or have your student
deliver them to Mrs. Schmiermund, Mr. Stevens, or Mrs. Bolduc at the
school. Program dates run through April 30th, 2014. Thank you for your
support.
Does someone’s drinking trouble you? Al-Anon is a supportive program
for anyone who has or has had a problem of drinking in a relative,
friend or parent. Al-Anon is anonymous. What you say here is not
said outside of our room.
An Al-Anon meeting continues to be held every
Thursday evening at 7:15 pm at the Epsom Public Library. For further
information visit

Upcoming
Events At Oscar Foss Memorial Library
•An evening
with Brady Carlson Monday, September 23 at 7 pm. We are pleased to
announce that NH Public Radio’s Brady Carlson, host of All Things
Considered, will visit the Oscar Foss Memorial Library to talk about his
work and share entertaining stories. This is certain to be a fun and
memorable evening!
• Banned
Books Week, celebrate your Freedom to Read! In support of the right to
choose books freely for ourselves, the ALA and Oscar Foss Memorial
Library are sponsoring Banned Books Week September 22nd – 28th, an
annual celebration of our right to access books without censorship. This
year’s observance commemorates the most basic freedom in a democratic
society—the freedom to read freely—and encourages us not to take this
freedom for granted.
Since its
inception in 1982, Banned Books Week has reminded us that while not
every book is intended for every reader, each of us has the right to
decide for ourselves what to read, listen to or view. Oscar Foss
Memorial Library and thousands of libraries and bookstores across the
country will celebrate the freedom to read by participating in special
events, exhibits, and read-outs that showcase books that have been
banned or threatened. Stop by the Oscar Foss Memorial Library and “check
out” our display of Banned Books.
The
American Booksellers Association, the American Booksellers Foundation
for Free Expression; the ALA; the American Society of Journalists and
Authors; the Association of American Publishers; and the National
Association of College Stores sponsor Banned Books Week. The Library of
Congress Center for the Book endorses the observance.
American
libraries are the cornerstones of our democracy. Libraries are for
everyone, everywhere. Because libraries provide free access to a world
of information, they bring opportunity to all people. Now, more than
ever, celebrate the freedom to read at your library! Read an old
favorite or a new banned book this week.
5 Lies That
Ruin A Relationship
All around
us are Christians that sincerely believe in Jesus. They repent of their
sins and then for a few weeks, months or years they experience some
moderate changes. Over time, though, we’re realizing that the average
Christian lives no differently than an unbeliever. They’ve picked up
habits and behaviors and wrong beliefs that take them in all the wrong
directions. Wrong beliefs lead to wrong behaviors. So is authentic,
lasting change really possible? Absolutely; if you recognize the “5
Lies That Ruin Relationships” by Chip Ingram.
Author Chip
Ingram’s passion is helping Christians really live like Christians. As a
pastor and teacher for more than twenty-five years, Chip has helped
believers around the world move from spiritual spectators to healthy,
authentic disciples of Jesus by living out God’s truth in their lives
and relationships in transformational ways.
Join your
friends and neighbors at Center Barnstead Christian Church as we study
“5 Lies That Ruin Relationships” by Chip Ingram. This study will be
offered at two different times beginning Sunday, September 22, at 6:00
p.m. and again on Thursday night September 26, at 6:30 p.m. For more
information contact Center Barnstead Christian Church at 603-269-8831.
