How do you want Chichester to look in the year 2020 and beyond? All
citizens of Chichester are invited to meet in the Town/Grange Hall
on Friday, October 17, to discuss the future of Chichester. Come at
6:30 for snacks and greeting. The actual meeting will be from 7 to
8:30 p.m. Learn about a process involving a questionnaire, a
community forum and more. Similar meetings have been well-run and
interesting. Chichester is a community, which has concerned and
friendly citizens who work well together and care about their town.
Let’s keep that tradition going.
Chichester Library will hold its final Book Sale for 2008 on
Saturday, October 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drive up behind the
library on Pound Road, step into the basement, and load up with
books. There is always something different to be found there.
The officers of Chichester Grange were duly installed at a meeting
of Suncook Valley Pomona Grange at the Chichester Grange Hall on
October 8. The new officers will take up their positions at the
October 15th meeting of Chichester Grange.
If you would like to have your birthday listed in this column,
please call Hannah West at 798-5783 or e-mail
[email protected] Birthdays for the whole family may be submitted
at one time.
Alternates are needed on Chichester’s Planning Board to step in when
current voting members are not available to attend a meeting. The
Planning Board reviews all Site Plans and Subdivisions, reviews and
recommends changes or additions to the current zoning ordinance, and
addresses the ongoing planning needs of the town. Under the current
Growth Management Ordinance, the Planning Board must review and
update on an annual or five year basis, the Building Permit
Limitation, the Impact Fee Schedule, the Capital Improvement Plan,
and the Master Plan, to maintain compliance. If you can help with
this board, please contact the Selectmen’s Office.

Massage Celebrates National Massage Therapy Awareness Week With 2nd Annual
Food Drive
National Massage
Therapy Awareness Week is designed to raise public awareness about the
benefits of massage and encourages massage therapists to sponsor events that
support their local communities. Many of our area food pantries are in need
of assistance and Chichester Massage is sponsoring their 2nd annual food
drive to celebrate National Massage Therapy Awareness Week, October 20-25,
2008. Urgently needed items include canned fruits and vegetables, canned
tuna, soups, pastas/rice, sauces, peanut butter, healthy cereals, and 100%
juice boxes.
Chichester Massage will be offering free chair massages on Monday, October
20 and Thursday, October 23 from 5-7 p.m. with a monetary or food donation.
Donations will be accepted throughout the week at our office and those who
donate 5 or more items or $5 or more will receive a coupon for $10 off a
massage. All proceeds will go directly to local food pantries.
“Chair Massage allows us an opportunity to educate clients with a quick,
healthy way to relax. At the same time they can help support their local
community with a donation,” says Amy Troy, owner of Chichester Massage. “We
had a wonderful turnout last year and we’re hoping to have even more
participation this year.”
This is a great way to help others and reward yourself with a savings on
your next massage. Please help us make this food drive a success. Thank you
for your support.
