The Chichester Library has hundreds of books that they want to give
away. Plan to be at the Library on Saturday, February 28th, from 9 to 12.
You can come in and fill a bag or a box with books and carry them home.
This will also be a good opportunity to see your town library, if you
haven’t had a visit yet. Sign up for a library card and join in on the
programs and the many services the library offers. If you should have
any questions, please call Lisa at 798-5613.
On Monday, March 9, at 7 p.m. the Chichester Historical Society will be
having a program called “Local Indian History and Lore” presented by Tim
Paterson from Pittsfield. Tim is very knowledgeable about NH Indians and
their history and knows a lot about Native Americans in this localized area.
The program will be held at the Historical Society Museum on 49 Main Street
(next to the Methodist Parish Hall). It is free. All are welcome, and
refreshments will be served. Note that the day of the week is Monday, not
the usual day for Historical Society programs, in order to fit the speaker’s
schedule. For more information, call Lucille Noel as 798-5709.
Chichester Grange will meet on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. upstairs in the
Grange Hall. Mary West is in charge of the program, and perhaps there will
be a speaker from the Sierra Club. Certainly there will be fun and
fellowship and refreshments. Visitors are always welcome.
If you stop in at the Town Offices, perhaps the Town Reports will be
ready and you can begin to read the warrants in preparation for March’s Town
and School District meetings. If the reports aren’t out yet, you can
certainly plan to pick one up at the School District meeting, which will be
held on Saturday, March 7, at the School beginning a 9 a.m.
The Town has given the Chichester Library a copy of the NEW HAMPSHIRE
PLANNING AND LAND USE REGULATIONS 2008-2009 EDITION for our patrons’ use.
Please drop by the Library if you should have any questions pertaining to
this subject. The Library is open 25 hours a week and those hours are
posted at the front of the Library.

Easter’s on Its Way
We are now getting out our Easter bunnies, and Easter decorations. Shop
early for the best selection. We will have Easter baskets that you can fill
yourself as well till they are gone.
Dress yourself for Easter and save money at the same time. We have dresses,
skirts, slacks, blouses, handbags, jewelry, and dress pants and shirts for
men and kids’ clothing, as well as shoes. Our inventory changes on the days
we’re open (Tuesday-Wednesday and Thursday, 8 to 4, and Sat., 10 to 4. Shop
often for the best selection. Also, if you have Easter clothing, baskets,
bunnies, decorations, etc. that you no longer use or need, we would love
them to help others get these items at reasonable prices.
We are also collecting prom gowns now. If anyone has one they no longer
need, we make them very affordable so everyone can benefit from them.
People have been calling to see what we need and I always say we take
anything at almost any time. Clothing, dishes, books, small furniture, such
as end tables, floor lamps, night stands, coffee tables. We sell what
we can to pay the rent and do our projects. We also give items away when
there are fires if we have the items they need. Please consider us when
donating, or if you’re thinking of throwing out something that is perfectly
good, but you’re just tired of it.
When Spring time comes, a lot of folks change rooms and get new
curtains, blankets, bedspreads, pillows, etc. Don’t just throw
out the old if they are still good, as a lot of less fortunate can benefit
from them. Thank you for thinking of us.
Wish List:
1) Tub ring for baby.
2) Socks for homeless.
TDS Upgrading Email System To Google™ Platform
Recently TDS started upgrading its free TDS e-mail service to the
popular Google™ web-based platform. The transition process is staged over
the course of six-weeks as hundreds of thousands of customers are converted
to the company’s new system.
Prior to the conversion, TDS will be sending multiple direct mail and
e-mail communications to customers instructing them to visit their TDS
password protected account for full conversion details, including a specific
conversion date. TDS encourages customers to wait until an official
notification arrives in the mail to convert. Customers will keep their
existing TDS e-mail addresses.
Customer conversion dates are staggered during the process to ensure
customers get the individual assistance they need. Due to the many unique
ways customers set up their computers, TDS anticipates some customers will
need guidance during the standard installation process.
“We have tried to make this process as easy and transparent as possible;
however, change of this nature can generate many questions and we want to
answer them all thoroughly,” stated Drew Petersen, director of legislative
and public relations for TDS Telecommunications Corp. “To help, TDS added
more than fifty new customer care representatives and continues to monitor
call volumes very closely.”
Recently, a customer test pilot group, as well as all TDS employees who
use the company’s e-mail service at home, were transitioned to the new email
platform. In addition, all new TDS Internet customers who select the TDS
e-mail product are being automatically enrolled on the Google platform.
The number one question TDS heard from the pilot group was: ‘Do I have
to change my e-mail address?’ “The answer is absolutely not,” responds
Petersen. “All customers keep their existing TDS e-mail addresses.”
Customer security is a top priority at TDS and that continues during the
e-mail platform conversion. Petersen reminds customers, “Only when you are
logged into your own TDS account (or on the phone with a TDS representative
you called) should you make the necessary changes or provide new
information. Our goal is to minimize all exposure to phishing and vishing
scams.”
“Upgrading to the Google platform provides our customers with more
features and functionality,” says Petersen. “It’s important to keep our
e-mail service competitive with other service providers. We feel Google has
the most to offer.”
