Chichester Public Library News
This afternoon, as every
Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., the Knitting Circle will be
meeting.
Tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. is
the pre-school/kindergarten program of stories and crafts. All who
attend report having a great time.
At noon tomorrow is one
of the library’s book clubs. They will be discussing Night Over
Water by Ken Follett. Bring your lunch and join the group.
The evening book club is currently reading Gaining Ground: A Story
of Farmers’ Markets, Local Food and Saving the Family Farm, by
Forrest Pritchard. With New Hampshire’s agricultural history and
the shrinking number of family farms, this is a very important
topic. Stop by the library to see about joining the group and
getting the book to read before the December 21st meeting at 7 p.m.
Friday at 7 p.m., Lakes
Region poet Barbara Bald will be at the library to introduce her and
Beth Fox’s newly published book, Other Voices/Other Lives. These
poems were inspired by the stories of senior citizens in their area.
Refreshments will be served and local poets are encouraged to come
and share their endeavors.
The Down Cellar Poets are
scheduled to meet on Monday, December 5th, at 7 p.m. This is a
contemporary poetry writing and study workshop for the New Hampshire
Poetry Society members and guests and is facilitated by our own
Jimmy Pappas. Please call 798-3410 for more information.
The success of the
basket-making classes continue, so much so that another program is
scheduled for December 12th. As is normal with this type of class,
sign-up is a prerequisite, along with paying for the cost of
materials. Just in time for holiday giving, these baskets will
become family heirlooms.
