Letter
I want to thank all of you who prayed for the heavy
rains to miss us last weekend. Not only could our
budgets not afford it, our inner selves are already
water logged.
I feel the need to tell you what you already know.
Not much is going to happen in the way of road
repairs until next spring. We will do as much as we
can on a daily basis.
This year, with the help from FEMA and the State, we
repaired one bridge and replaced another on Center
Hill Road. We are now in the process of preparing
Griffin Road for a new bottomless box culvert, which
hopefully, should be done before year’s end.
Be thankful if you’re not one of the hundreds of
people with water issues on their property. Even
though I wish I did, I don’t know the answer or the
solution of these water issues. Looking at the big
picture, it is clear that the sooner we address
them, the cheaper it will be to resolve them.
Your Road Agent,
Gordon Ellis

John Lindahl once commuted by bicycle from his home in
Epsom, New Hampshire to the Concord, New Hampshire
Wal-Mart on Loudon Road. This 12 mile trip began each
morning at 6 a.m. so that John could begin his workday
by 7:30 a.m.
Today, we have an update for those of you who generously
contributed. You have undoubtedly noticed that John has
not been seen riding his bicycle to Concord. The
donation cans for John, raised enough money to buy a
solid second hand car for John, and some insurance. He
has a scooter, but it needs some work. When this is
ready, he’ll be able to ride the scooter in good weather
and take his car on bad days.
Thank you to all who donated. Epsom area businesses made
direct donations and/or graciously put the donation cans
on their counters and helped to coordinate the efforts.
Thank you Care Pharmacy, Frekey’s Ice Cream, Epsom
Library, Subway, Tim’s Truck Capital, Circle Restaurant,
Dollar Store, Evans Express Mart, Stevie D’s Country
Store and Deli, Circle Market, Dunkin’ Donuts, Route 28
Bakery and Dairy Bar, Clark’s Grain Store, and Northwood
Market.
Times are tough, but many small donations can help
someone who is struggling. This is a story with a happy
ending, and your help has truly made a difference.
And a word from John Lindahl: “An open letter to all
those who have assisted me: Thank you very much for your
kind help to put a close to a difficult period and
to help me get on to better things from here.”
Mr. & Mrs. Mark McKeen
Alicia
Moran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Moran of Epsom, New
Hampshire, became the bride of Mark McKeen, son of Rev.
and Mrs. Daniel McKeen of Albion, Maine.
The ceremony took place on August 16, 2008, at Epsom
Bible Church with Tim Patterson, of Pittsfield, New
Hampshire, officiating.
Mark and Alicia spent their honeymoon at Lake Tahoe,
California.
The couple will reside in Presque Isle, Maine, where
Mark will be an intern at State Street Baptist Church.
