realized that some women just don’t want to train in mixed
classes, and the schedule was a perfect fit for a lot of the
women who contacted us.”
As a mother of six, Nancy can relate to the pressure of
“fitting in” an exercise program into an already busy life.
“I believe this is part of what makes a good trainer,” she
said “The ability to relate to clients and understand the
need to integrate an exercise program into a busy lifestyle,
without neglecting other responsibilities.”
Through its personal training and “Get Fit NH” Boot Camp
programs, Cr8 Health & Fitness offers training programs
designed to fit your busy lifestyle. You can contact Nancy

Nomination For Epsom’s “Citizen of the Year”
Submitted By Barbara A. Smith
My family would like to nominate Epsom Resident, Matt
Moulton, as this year’s “Citizen of the Year.”
On may 18, Matt happened upon an accident scene on Route 28
where my nephew, Bob Bean, had been hit while on his
motorcycle by a car whose driver had fallen asleep at the
wheel. Bob was very seriously injured, having lost his foot
at the scene, and that leg being shattered.
According to witnesses, when Matt ran up he threw his body
onto the injured leg to stop the flow of blood and quickly
got a tourniquet in place.
After Bob’s surgery to amputate the remainder of the leg,
the first thing the surgeon asked when he came to the
waiting room was, “Do you know who put the tourniquet on
Bob’s leg?” Unfortunately, no one did know at that moment.
“Well,” said the doctor, “whoever it was, that person saved
Bob’s life.” He went on to explain that Bob had lost so much
blood that he had to have nearly all his own replaced by
transfusions. If not for the tourniquet, the loss would have
been too great to sustain life.
That’s when the family started talking to people and
discovered that it was Matt Moulton whose heroic action had
given Bob the lease on life that he so desperately needed.
I’m sure this wasn’t the first of such actions in his
career, nor will it be the last by this dedicated young man.
He began his service to the Epsom community back in the
early 90s when he became a volunteer with the fire
department. Shortly afterwards, he became a full-fledged EMT.
A little later he became a paramedic and began to serve
Epsom and surrounding towns in this capacity.
As far as our family is concerned, Matt will always be our
special angel. And we’re sure that in his years as a
volunteer, and EMT, and a paramedic that there must be
dozens of other families out there who feel the same way.
Besides being very thankful for what Matt did for Bob, we
can all rest a little easier knowing that people like Matt
are out there to step up whenever they are needed. Matt
serves as a perfect example of the dedication these people
have in giving of themselves to help any one of us.
Matt deserves the acknowledgment of the whole community of
Epsom for his actions in the past, on May 18, and for the
future as he continues his career.
Valley Artisans, Artisan of the Month
Florence Mae Parlangeli, born and raised in New Rochelle,
NY, grew up as a dancer and with a love of the arts. After
graduating from the State University of NY with a degree in
Advertising Art and Design, and a training in fine arts, she
started her career as an Assistant Art Director with New
York Life Insurance Co., in Manhattan, NY.
While raising her family and pursuing her profession in
advertising, Flo painted for pleasure, often land and
seascapes, and her work was displayed and honored at art
shows in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Most recently she
has taken up Plein Air Painting on the coasts of Florida,
New Hampshire and Maine, producing dramatic original oil
works. Flo has always incorporated her artistic talents into
her life and has explored the age-old technique of Japanese,
Sumi-e art painting, along with developing a passion for
creating original jewelry. Her designs are derived from a
love of color and a keen eye for balance and proportion.
Each item in Flo’s collection is individually designed, and
her pieces range in theme from fun and spunky to
sophisticated and spirited.
She resides in Pembroke with her husband Bob, and she will
be working at Valley Artisans on Wednesday, September 3rd
and Sunday, September 21st. Every month our artisan of the
month donates a beautiful item of his/her choosing from
their inventory to be raffled off to one lucky patron, no
purchase is necessary to participate. We are located at 10

Letter
To The Editor:
We recently had the frightening experience of being in the
path of the tornado that touched down in Epsom. We’d like
to thank all of the volunteers, utility crews, local
officials and American Red Cross for their prompt, courteous
and compassionate responses. They all did a magnificent job
for which we are grateful. A special thanks goes to Alex
Cote from the Deerfield Highway Dept. for keeping us
informed and working tirelessly to get Lake Rd. open and
especially for making sure damaged trees were taken down
before they could injure anyone. Also, thank you to John
Hickey, the Epsom Zoning Compliance Officer, in helping us
with the building permit process.
The neighborhood certainly has a new look. Many houses are
unsalvageable and most trees are down. Clean-up has begun
and is progressing slowly but surely.
Many thanks to all for your efforts and support.
The Lambert family
