storytelling and who’s listeners will live to regret it.”
Having always enjoyed poetry, Mr. Wentworth said, ”At the tender age
of eighty-five I decided to write a poem. I liked the
character so much, it turned into seventeen chapters of verse.”
His book will be available for purchase.

“Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum”
Tuesday, November 15,
2016 at 5:30pm at the Suncook Senior Center
To significant international acclaim,
Maine businessman Derek Volk has released his poignant memoir
Chasing the Rabbit: A Dad’s Life Raising a Son on the Spectrum.
Co-written with his twenty-four-year-old son Dylan, who has
Asperger’s syndrome, the book highlights the Volk family’s
significant challenges and heartfelt triumphs as well as the various
coping strategies they have employed throughout Dylan’s life.
The book details the Volk family’s
frustration before Dylan’s diagnosis at age eight. It also offers an
honest account of the experiences raising a son with Asperger’s, a
developmental disorder that most notably affects the ability to
socialize with others. Stories in Chasing the Rabbit range from
Dylan’s early days to the specific behavioral challenges of his
adolescent years to life in the “real world” as he transitioned to a
young adult with the dream of pursuing a career in comedy.
Throughout the book, readers are treated to “Dylan’s Take,” which
offers Dylan’s perspective.
The Suncook Senior Center will host Derek and Dylan Volk for a free
community presentation at 5:30 pm on November 15, 2016. The
Volk’s engaging story is described by The Pine Tree Society as
“phenomenal,” “inspirational,” and “amazing.” Their connection
to their audiences is immediate and personal.
The Suncook Senior Center is operated by Elder Services, Community
Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc. The mission of the
Elder Services department is to promote, through our multi-purpose
senior centers, the physical, emotional, and economic well-being of

Letter To The Editor
Kudos to whomever removed the political
ads from the Briggs/Charron Memorial Circle!
Before the election!!! And to the people
who maintain the Memorial all year long.
I rode by the circle and the Memorial
looked wonderful. Thank you.
