Letter
I’d like to take this opportunity to inform the citizens of
Gilmanton that at our monthly meeting in March, the GYO board elected Phil Eisenmann
as our new President. This has been a planned transition and I
appreciate Phil’s willingness to step into the position.
Over
the past 10 years I’ve enjoyed my association with GYO as a parent,
coach, basketball coordinator, and President.
The current GYO board is an incredible group of volunteers who have
strong values, work ethics, and respect for the children and parents
that they serve.
I have great memories of “landscaping at GYO Park with John Jakubens,
teaching Ernie Tiede how to referee, typing e-mails to Becky Plourde
that make it past her company’s firewall, finally having someone to take
minutes at our meetings (Karen Doherty), asking Lori Hemlin for a “legal
opinion” on the GYO By-Laws, staying away from anything that Gary Chase
did with electricity, and drinking cup after cup of coffee with Dawn
Laflam at the 4th of July Fireworks. We certainly had fun.
I am appreciative of the cooperation I received and the
relationships I developed with the Gilmanton School Administration,
teachers, and maintenance staff. A special thank you to
Karen
Stockwell for her communication
over the past few years. I certainly owe a huge thank you to my
family who supported me on all levels. My wife
Sarah
who never cared what time I got home, and Bumpa who was taking care of
my lawn while I was at GYO
Park. I apologize to
Connor and Jackson for never
building a hockey rink or basketball court at
GYO
Park……..don’t take it off
your “dream sheets” boys.
I’d like to thank the current and past GYO board members, coaches,
parents, and finally the children of GYO. There’s nothing like
getting a “high-five” from a young athlete who has just done something
great! I recommend it to everyone.
