The Reverend Linda B. Bolton
Retires from the
Gilmanton
Community
Church
The church family
at Gilmanton Community Church,
friends, and relatives celebrated Pastor Linda Bolton’s
wonderful tenure at our church at her retirement party on February 28th at
the Gilmanton Iron Works Church. A fabulous time was had by all,
with a large crowd of people there to extend their good wishes to Pastor Linda. We had lots
of good food and conversation, followed by a hilarious “roast” of Pastor Linda.
We want
to thank Pastor Linda
for her 13+ years of service and dedication to her Church family and the
community at large. We all know her as “the Energizer Bunny” because of the
energy and enthusiasm that she puts into everything she does. I am sure that
her energy will not wane as she starts her retirement, and we will see her
working in many different ways to continue to help her community and her
church.
Gilmanton Old Home Day Committee
The Gilmanton Old Home Day Committee will hold it’s
first planning session on Thursday, April 16th at Smith Meetinghouse. All
meetings are held on the third Thursday at 7 p.m. from
April to July. Many hands make this annual event memorable.
Come join us as we plan for our town’s 111th Old Home Day Celebration.

Letter To The Editor
To the Editor:
The Gilmanton Year-Round Library
Association thanks everyone who attended and voted at Saturday’s Town
Meeting in support of funding that would have enabled us to open the Library
in this calendar year.
Unfortunately, we did not have the outcome we had
hoped for, and town funding will not be forthcoming this year.
We continue to believe the Library is a part of
Gilmanton both as a beautiful structure and more importantly as a testament
to what can be accomplished with the commitment, generosity, and hard work
of the many Library supporters. The mission is to realize a full-service
year-round library for all of the citizens of Gilmanton. It is an important
and worthy goal that will benefit our community and its families in many
ways.
We will continue to pursue the goal of opening the
Library doors as soon as possible, welcoming every citizen of the Town. The
Association’s focus has always been town based with a special purpose to
serve the children and students of Town. This purpose will continue to be as
we go forward.
A very sincere thank you to the hundreds of
individuals, families, and businesses who have supported our efforts. For
those who are just learning of the project we invite you to join us in the
continued work to provide Gilmanton with full library services for everyone.
Respectfully,
The Gilmanton Year-Round Library
