Letter To The Editor
This is to thank the Board of Selectmen for their diligence in
working to corral costs and for maintaining fiscal discipline.
Retirees and others on a fixed income should be particularly
grateful for the almost 10% reduction in the local tax rate; I know
that I am.
Sincerely,
Dick Burchell
Congratulations Pack 242!
Thanks to the generosity of our community and the hard work of our
boys and their families, Pack 242 collected 663 items of
nonperishable food items Nov. 9 as part of the Scouting for Food
program!
Scouts around the state hung signs on doors November 2 which
promised they would return November 9 to pick up nonperishable food
items. As part of our Good Turn project, this year’s “Scouting for
Food” effort will benefit more than 150 pantries, kitchens and
closets throughout New Hampshire.
Gilmanton Year-Round Library Celebrates
American Education Week
Stop by the Gilmanton Year-Round Library the week of November 18th
to admire the display of Gilmanton School students’ work in honor of
American Education Week. Samples of work from kindergarten through
eighth grade will be displayed. The display will run from Tuesday
November 19th through Saturday the 23rd during the Library’s open
hours. Work samples will highlight the type of curriculum studied by
students this fall.
On Thursday, November. 21st, from 3:15 to 4 pm, the Library will
host a reception for Gilmanton School staff to thank them for all
they do. The Gilmanton community, Selectmen and other town
officials, have been invited to this reception to view student work
and help celebrate American Education Week with teachers, parents
and students.
