in “Once Upon a Mattress” opening Feb. 18 at the Scenic Theatre, Pittsfield.
Will Sir Harry find a princess bride for Prince Dauntless? Will the king
ever speak again? Will the queen ever stop talking? You will just have to
find out the answers for yourself as The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater
Workshop performs “Once Upon a Mattress,” the musical based on the story of
“The Princess and the Pea,” next week.
“Kids just love performing this show, and they learn so much and have so
much fun,” said Maye Hart, director. “This show has stood the test of time,”
she added.
With Dee Dee Pitcher doing the choreography assisted by dance captains
Alison Quigley and Brianna King, costuming by Cindi Banfill and Kathy Pence,
and lighting by Jim Hart, this show continues to be popular and
entertaining.
“Once Upon a Mattress” is produced under special agreement with Rodgers and
Hammerstein Theatricals. Music is by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer
and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer.
Tickets are going fast for this humorous and engaging musical. Performances
are Thursday, Feb. 19, Friday, Feb. 20, and Saturday, Feb. 21. All shows are
