On March 9, 2013 Cooper Hill Pizzeria in Northwood hosted an event
to raise money for a cure for childhood cancer. The event was held
on behalf of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Participants raised
money to have their heads shaved. Pictured above being shaved are
Charles Pease and his grandson Bryce Twombly, along with Sheila
Holmes of Halo’s Hair Salon and Cheryl Higgins of Cheryl’s Haircuts,
who offered their barbering skills shaving a total of 31 heads. With
the help of several participants, including Ron Jock of New
Hampshire Distributors, Amy Twombly who registered all participants,
and Joyce Colby who helped me taking in the collected funds, we were
able to raise more than $5,000 for this wonderful event. We will be
having another event next year and hope more people will join in
this great cause. Thanks to everyone who helped out in any manner.
