Indoor Air
Quality Issues Free Seminar
Sponsored by The Fitness Factor
On a scale from 1 (worst) to 10 (best), how would you rate the quality of
the air in your home or office? Less than 10% of people would rate their
indoor environment at a 10. In fact, multiple surveys conducted by
professional contracting associations, medical organizations, and Indoor Air
Quality (IAQ) groups estimate that over fifty percent of homes and
businesses in the United States have poor indoor air quality that affects
the health of people that live and work in those spaces.
Even the U.S. Congress and the Environmental Protection Agency, rate indoor
air pollution as one of the most important environmental concerns in America
today. What is indoor air pollution? It may best be defined as, “the
constant exposure to very low levels of contaminants over a prolonged period
of time (i.e. years).”
What are these contaminants, how many are there in the average home, where
do they come from, and how dangerous are they?
Other questions that will be answered:
Why did the term, “Sick Building Syndrome” suddenly appear in the late
1970’s? How did NASA solve the air quality problem in the space station?
Most importantly, how can we improve our indoor air quality environment for
the long-term benefit of our family’s health?
All of these issues and more will be the subject matter of a FREE Indoor Air
Quality Seminar on Wednesday evening, September 17, at 7:00 P.M.
Commensurate with its goal of promoting healthy living, this seminar is
sponsored by The Fitness Factor, and will be held at its location in the
mall at 1022 Dover Road (Rte 4) in Epsom (across the street from
MacCallum’s Boat House).
This seminar will be presented by Certified Indoor Air Quality Specialist,
Ross Allen of Northwood. Ross has over twelve years experience in the field
helping families and businesses improve their home environments. He is also
a Certified Mold Inspector (certified by the National Organization of
Remediators and Mold Inspectors), and is a qualified First Responder
Awareness Program (FRAP) Trainer, a program that increases the awareness of
indoor pollution dangers among our first responders.
