Community Support Requested For Rescue Boat Motor
Northwood Fire-Rescue Association will be having a boot drive
November 7 from 10-2 at the park and ride located at the corner of
Route 4 and 202 across from the library. Donations will help
defray the cost of an outboard motor for the rescue boat purchased
with a generous anonymous donation.
The
special design has two inflatable pontoons made of a material
allowing the use on ice as well as on the water and is easily
carried by 4 persons. The flat deck has sufficient room to carry an
injured patient on a backboard, necessary medical equipment and
personnel. In testing we found the boat to be extremely stable,
maneuverable and the ability to rescue a person from the water
quicker and easier than a regular boat.
Please join us on November 7 and see the boat. Donations can be
mailed to Northwood Fire-Rescue Association, 499 1st NH Turnpike,
Northwood, NH 03261.
