Letter
To The Editor
The Northwood Teachers Association were “hoist on
their own petard”. Simply, that means that they were injured
by the device that they intended to injure others with. A petard is
a 16th century small bomb that would often blow up in the bombers
face.
The NTA demands are an extremely greedy grab at the slop
trough of taxpayer dollars. Frankly their timing could not have been
worse. We are at our limits right now.
They are very unhappy
with the School Board putting out the information making them
“appear” greedy. I want to thank the School Board. Great job.
Everything that is done with our taxpayer dollars should be out in
the open to be scrutinized by the public.
We (towns,
states, and the USA) are in big financial trouble because of
backroom deals that bought votes from those on the public dole.
Everyone of us owe close to $50,000 dollars in federal deficit
dollars.
We continue to expect others, our kids and grandkids to
pay our way. When will it stop? When will we get our heads out of
the sand? Comparable to Coe-Brown, shorter work year, no duties,
GOOD GRIEF! I want, I want, I want and I want someone else to pay
for it.
There is no appearance to it, you are very greedy and you
should look very hard at your leadership and negotiating team for
the cause of your angst. “We now have a government of the feckless,
by the crooked, for the connected.” I forget where I saw this but it
is right on.

Hospice
Volunteers Needed For New Hospice Program
Rochester District VNA
is adding a Hospice program to their specialties and they are
currently recruiting new volunteers for the program. Hospice
is a holistic approach to caring for patients who have a terminal
illness. The hospice volunteers are an important part of the hospice
team providing care and support to patients and their families.
Volunteers can offer a wide range of support to patients through
companionship, reading, sharing hobbies, documenting stories, and
running errands, just to name a few. They also can support office
staff by filing or answering phones. If you have ever thought
about volunteering and supporting a not for profit agency in your
community, this is a great opportunity to make a difference in the
lives of many.
We will be offering a comprehensive training
program soon. Rochester District VNA serves patients in Strafford,
No. Rockingham, Southern Belknap and Southern Carroll Counties in
New Hampshire. If you are interested please call Ellie Atherton,
Hospice Manager at 332-1133 x104 for more information.
