PIE
SALE AND
SOUP LUNCH
Once
again the ladies mission group would like to interest you in buying
your holiday pies at their Pie Sale on December 14, Saturday, 9 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at the Northwood Advent Christian Church (Route 107) 113
School Street, in the Narrows. They will also be selling a nice
homemade soup and cornbread lunch at 11:30. It will be a good
opportunity for some friendly conversation. Can’t wait to see you.
Christmas Music
Celebration
The
Northwood Advent Christian Church is hosting a night of Christmas
music on Sunday December 15 at 6pm at the church 113 School St in
Northwood. A brass quartet from the Strafford Wind Symphony will be
sharing, also Kim Felber Plummer on violin, Andrew Plummer sharing
his vocal solos and Don Plummer with voice and trumpet. Don has
performed in 36 states and has just come back from playing a concert
in Florida. This will be a wonderful way to prepare heart and mind

Santa’s
Helpers
Applications for Northwood Santa’s Helpers are still available until
December 14 for families that will not be able to provide gifts for
their children this Christmas. You and your children must be
residents of Northwood at the time of application and at the time of
delivery. Forms are available at Northwood Town Hall reception
window, Northwood Ridge Fire Station and on the community bulletin
board at the Northwood Post Office.
Donation boxes for new unwrapped toys and gifts are located until
December 14 at Heritage Hardware, Northwood Post Office, Wilder’s
Flooring, Northwood Garage and TDBank.
The
Northwood Congregational Church, UCC invites you to join us on
Christmas Eve. There will be two services.
The
early service begins at 7:00 pm and is a family oriented service
with music, candlelight and the hope of the Christmas message. Then
at 11:00 pm there is an intimate service with communion, music and
candlelight.
All are
welcome to join us as we celebrate the birth of Christ.

Harriet
M. Wallace Ballou
Harriet
M. Wallace Ballou, 69, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November
12, 2013.
Harriet
was born in Pittsfield, NH on June 5, 1944, the daughter of the late
Helen and Leon Wallace, Sr.
She was
raised in Northwood, NH and attended the Northwood schools and Coe
Brown Academy.
She
married Ronald (Buddy) F. Ballou, Sr. on November 26, 1960. They
had 2 sons and resided in Northwood. She was a very caring and
loving Wife and Mom. The love of her life was tragically killed in a
horrific work accident in 1979. In 1992, Harriet, her two sons and
two grandchildren moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL. She was very proud
of her orange trees and large backyard garden filled with beautiful
flowers and statues. For most of her life, she suffered from
Rheumatoid Arthritis. Recently she was diagnosed with cancer.
The
youngest of 4 siblings, she was predeceased by her 3 brothers:
Douglas Wallace, Edward Wallace, Leon Wallace, Jr., and 1 sister
Muriel Emerson Ennis.
She is
survived by her two sons, Ronald Ballou, Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, FL
and Roy Ballou of Edgewater, FL; 2 grandchildren; several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Per
Harriet’s wishes, there will be no services.
My
dearest friend of 65 years, I will miss you and always treasure our

Andrew
P. Delisle, Jr
Andrew
P. Delisle, Jr of Gorham Hill Road passed away Friday, November 29,
2013 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH following a long
illness. He was 79.
Born on
March 3, 1934 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Andrew & Eva
(Michaud) Delisle.
Andrew
grew up in Berlin and attended Berlin Schools.
He was
employed as a volkswagon mechanic at various garages throughout the
seacoast area of NH. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides
his parents, he is pre-deceased by brothers Richard, Leo, Maurice
Delisle and a sister Lucille Delisle.
He is
survived by his wife of 52 years, Sally E. (Fanjoy) Delisle along
with four children Deborah S. Martineau of Gorham, NH; Peter H.
Delisle and his wife Kimberly of Northwood, NH; Russell A. Delisle
of Milan, NH; and Julie A. Delisle of Berlin, NH; along with 8
grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers George, Paul,
Roland Delisle and a sister Beatrice Poulin, several nieces and
nephews.
No
formal services are scheduled, however the family is planning a
private gathering.
